Private residential development breakfast briefing: Building next to rail infrastructure

Private residential development breakfast briefing: Building next to rail infrastructure

Reservations

If you build in an urban environment, chances are that you will often be building on sites next to or over transport infrastructure such as railways, tube tunnels and station buildings. In our April session, we will examine some of the challenges of developing sites adjacent to these types of assets, how best to approach discussions with rail operators and how best to protect your own interests.

David Cordery and Andrew Williams, who has experience of working with Network Rail's in-house legal team, will take you through some of the issues to consider, including:

  • Do I need to sign an Asset Protection Agreement (APA)?
  • What rights do neighbouring rail operators have to influence my works?
  • What can I do if I have already agreed to an onerous APA?

Short presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.
