New threshold levels for public procurement

Even more contracts will be caught by the public procurement regime in the new year.

The European Commission has published the official sterling equivalents of the new threshold levels (excluding VAT) to apply for the purposes of the public procurement regime. They come into force from 1 January 2016.

The Euro thresholds have been revised upwards slightly for compatibility with the thresholds in the Agreement on Government Procurement.  However, due to movements in the £:€ exchange rate (i.e. a stronger pound), the new sterling values are actually lower than the values in force for 2015.
