Matthew re-joined Trowers & Hamlins in July 2018 from Knightsbridge firm, Decimus Fearon LLP, having trained in house at Canary Wharf Group Plc and qualified as a solicitor in September 2017. Matthew carried out a six-month secondment with Trowers & Hamlins during his training contract.
Matthew has experience of acting on construction and engineering disputes for both Employers and Main Contractors and is familiar with both standard (having worked on large disputes involving JCT, NEC and FIDIC contracts) and bespoke forms of construction contracts. He has experience of both enforcing and resisting the enforcement of Adjudicators' decisions in the Technology and Construction Court. Matthew also has experience of adjudication, instructing experts on technical engineering matters and on programming issues, resolving construction disputes through mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution and drafting settlement agreements, claims, defences and adjudication submissions.
Matthew has also delivered training sessions for clients and has spoken at events for the Charted Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors.
