Tasleem Sayani


Tasleem is a senior associate in the International Corporate, Tax and Private Wealth department based in Dubai, and has over 13 years of UAE-based experience in advising both Muslim and non-Muslim clients of all nationalities on Wills, guardianship and inheritance matters. 

Ranked in Chambers Global (HNW 2022) and described as a "very good private client lawyer who is brilliant in her work on Wills…" Tasleem has gained an excellent reputation in the local legal environment as one of the go-to practitioners for local private client matters. She has significant experience in drafting various types of UAE Wills, including DIFC Wills for assets, guardianship, real estate and local companies, as well as Wills for registration at the Abu Dhabi Judicial department and at the Dubai local Notary Public. For Muslim clients, Tasleem advises on Sharia-compliant Wills and Sharia guardianship matters. 

A legal consultant licensed by the Dubai Legal Affairs Department, Tasleem was also one of the founding members of the DIFC Wills Service Centre's (DIFC WSC) working group, and continues to be an active member, assisting the DIFC WSC with consultations on UAE Wills and inheritance-related matters. Tasleem is a Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) as awarded by STEP and regularly speaks at the STEP regional conference. Tasleem is also the first named DIFC Wills Draftsman. 

Tasleem works closely with intermediaries such as local and international wealth managers, financial advisors and real estate agents to advise their clients on legal aspects succession planning and estate administration.

As one of the first western qualified lawyers to deal with inheritance matters in the UAE (Sharia) Personal Status Court. Tasleem has substantial experience in assisting bereaved family members in administering estates consisting of UAE-based assets, within the local legal framework. As part of her assistance, Tasleem represents beneficiaries and heirs at all local entities including at the Dubai Land Department (DLD), the Dubai Economic Department (DED), and the Road Transport Authority (RTA).

Tasleem is a Solicitor of Supreme Court of England & Wales, and can also advise on English Wills and probate matters, as well as Lasting Powers of Attorney.

In her previous role, Tasleem was a partner at a well-established law firm in Dubai and throughout her time there, independently built up a successful Wills and Inheritance department, resulting in the firm being ranked in Chambers Global (HNW 2021).
