Andrew Lovett


Andrew is an Associate Solicitor in Trowers & Hamlins' Travel, Tourism & Insurance Team which he joined in 2015 from Stones Solicitors in Exeter.

Andrew has a wide range of experience in both Claimant and Defendant General and Commercial Litigation matters and also has 17 years specialist experience in Insolvency related matters.

Andrew acts for Trustees in Bankruptcy and well as Liquidators, specifically dealing with all types of asset recovery and antecedent transactions such as undervalue claims and wrongful trading. Andrew also advises individuals, including company directors, on all matters of insolvency including defending claims by Trustees and Liquidators.

As a member of the Travel, Tourism & Insurance Team, Andrew acts for individuals and corporations referred by legal expense insurers and this has provided the opportunity to advise and represent clients on varied litigation matters , including contractual disputes, Consumer Rights Act claims, boundary disputes, nuisance and trespass.

Andrew has recently advised and acted on:

  • A successful claim in negligence by an individual against her former public sector employer in respect of her sickness early retirement package, which resulted in an award valued in excess of £130,000.
  • Successfully defending a boundary claim brought against an elderly couple by their neighbours, who also built a high wall directly outside of our clients' home, which became the subject of National Press coverage.
  • A multitude of successful claims against builders, plumbers and other contractors for negligent and dangerous works to peoples properties.
  • A complex noise nuisance claim against a wind farm operator.
