Darren Hooker


Darren specialises in advising registered providers, public sector bodies, charities, social enterprises and other voluntary sector organisations.

He has particular expertise in establishing new entities, advising on governance issues and on group structure issues, including business restructuring, group mergers and the establishment of new groups.

Darren's recent experience includes advising a number of RPs on group consolidations, restructuring and mergers, including advising on the L&Q and East Thames merger. Darren has also recently been advising charitable RPs on technical issues following regulatory changes, such as the impact of deregulation on the need to comply with charity law on property disposals, and the impact of s93 on the removal of local authority shareholder rights.

Darren is a member of the Charity Law Association.
