Sarah Darvell

Since 2005, Sarah has been trusted by social housing providers to run the property due diligence for complex large scale residential portfolio funding as well as for smaller more straightforward transactions.

Sarah specialises in project managing and leading Real Estate Finance Security team members at Trowers on the due diligence and charging of large portfolios of residential property assets for a variety of financing arrangements and acquisitions.

The team forms part of the Housing Finance group at Trowers, which has been consistently ranked as Tier 1 in both Legal 500 and Chambers legal directories for Housing Finance work, and for several years running has been trusted by more housing providers than any other firm to deliver on their capital markets transactions. This includes the security aspects of the largest ever own-name issue by a housing association, which was led by Sarah.

Her extensive experience acting on debt finance, restructuring, refinancing and private placements means that Sarah can proactively identify and resolve issues at the earliest opportunity. By uplifting the values of LSVT stock and stock that is subject to defective mortgagee exclusion clauses, Sarah helps clients ensure that they maximise their borrowing capacity.

She advises on rolling charging programmes that create a ready stream of properties which are always ready for charge, in order to help ensure that the due diligence and charging process is quick, smooth and cost effective.

She is also spearheading the development of a range of groundbreaking IT solutions that provide increased transparency for clients and to streamline transactions.
