Joseph Acton


Joseph has over 20 years experience working in the South West real estate sector, advising a wide variety of public and private sector clients on a diverse mix of projects.

Joseph advises on all aspects of non-contentious property and development law and practice. He has worked on many complex development projects and has facilitated a number of successful joint ventures.

In particular, Joseph is acknowledged as an expert in social housing – advising Registered Providers of Social Housing,  local authorities and developers on housing matters as well as on regulatory, constitutional and governance matters.  He works regularly with our clients' boards, and has advised on mergers and amalgamations in the sector. 

As Head of Exeter Office, Joseph oversees a team of 20 partners and some 125 staff based in the South West, offering a full legal service to our clients.

Joseph is noted as a leader in the field of social housing in the Chambers and Partners' Guide to the Legal Profession.
