Trowers hosts charity dinner raising £25K for World Child Cancer

Sara Bailey, Managing Partner and Head of Real Estate at Trowers & Hamlins hosted a charity dinner raising over £25,000.

The dinner held on Thursday 11th October at the firm's head office in the City was attended by 120 friends of the firm including some high profile property and business heavyweights. Formal dinner attire was eschewed with guests encouraged to dress colourfully, setting the scene for a fun filled evening of music, auction and raffle prizes. Ambassadors of the charity Geeta Nanda O.B.E., CEO of Metropolitan Thames Valley and Guy's & St Thomas' Dr Robert Carr gave first-hand accounts of the their experiences helping children in acute need of medical treatment and support and the difference the charity makes.

Sara Bailey, ambassador for World Child Cancer said:

"This amount of money will have an enormous impact on desperate children who don't have access to the lifesaving treatment they need. The money raised at the dinner, will pay for treatment for 50 children as well as providing vital support for their parents. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of everybody who took part and dug deep. Through their kindness we are able to make a difference and save lives. I'd like to thank everybody who came to the dinner last night, all of our donors and sponsors, and to all those who supported me."

Sara, along with the other charity ambassadors, have personally raised £10K over their original £100K fundraising goal set when planning their challenging trek up Morocco's highest mountain, Summit Jebel Toubkal in April.

Jon Rosser, Chief Executive of World Child Cancer commented:

"We are very grateful to Trowers & Hamlins for arranging this delightful evening with such a great atmosphere and raising an incredible amount of money, as well as helping us explain our mission to so many new people. Our amazing Ambassadors have become a central part of the contouring success of World Child Cancer, allowing us to reach and help many more children.
