Trowers & Hamlins advises North Tyneside Council on new bond PFI-funded housing programme

Trowers & Hamlins has advised North Tyneside Council on a significant PFI agreement which will see 900 new and modernised homes delivered.

North Tyneside Council and Solutions 4 North Tyneside have entered into a PFI agreement for the delivery of some 600 new homes and 300 refurbished homes for older people in the Borough.

This is one of the largest programmes of new council house buildings since the early 1980's and will ensure that older people in the Borough are able to enjoy modern, decent homes which are suited to twenty-first century living.

Roy Marston, North Tyneside Senior Manager for the project, commented:  "The Council is really proud to have delivered great housing options for older people.  I want to thank the Council's team, including external advisers Trowers & Hamlins, Mott MacDonald and Deloitte, for helping to deliver the agreement."

Paul McDermott, Public Sector Commercial partner at Trowers & Hamlins, added:  "We are really pleased to have worked with North Tyneside Council on this transaction and delighted that over 900 new and modernised council homes will shortly be delivered."
