Trowers & Hamlins advise Gravesham Borough Council on two major regeneration projects

Advising Gravesham Borough Council on its Heritage Quarter and Canal Basin urban regeneration projects.

Advising Gravesham Borough Council on its Heritage Quarter and Canal Basin urban regeneration projects. We are advising the Council on all legal issues generated by both of the projects including the use of its Compulsory Purchase powers, strategic planning issues and Section 106 matters. We have also advised the Council on matters connected with its Local Development Scheme process, scheme non compliance and ancient market rights. The Heritage Quarter project will see £100 million invested in a mixed use redevelopment including retail, 600 new housing units, new office space and leisure uses to regenerate Gravesham’s historic High Street. The £120 million regeneration of the Canal Basin area of the town will transform the currently disused industrial site into a new riverside destination. Catherine Hand also advised the Council on the regeneration of the Christian Fields Estate, a tripartite agreement with an RSL and developer with grant funding from English Partnerships.
