Contacts database

Trowers & Hamlins is committed to safeguarding the privacy of contacts held on its Contacts Database.

The information we collect

Data is collated from various sources, including:

  • contacts made by employees during the course of their business
  • information arising from the application forms on our website
  • lists bought from reputable data houses and used according to their rules
  • requests from individuals to be added to our lists
  • responses to invites to seminars and other events

How we use this information

Information about you is held on our contacts database. You may at any time request to see and amend this data; if you would like to do so, please contact enquiries@trowers.com, or write to Head of Marketing, 3 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8YZ. Information is used for mailing 'know how', invites to events, and for collating general marketing information for strategic purposes. If information is used for the latter purpose, it will be used in such a manner that your anonymity is guaranteed on an external basis. Internally, all our employees and any third parties we engage to process your personal information are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your information.

You are allocated to mailing lists according to either a) your own requests or b) our belief as to which of our services would be of relevance and importance to you.

At the bottom of every mailing we send out, we offer you the opportunity to opt out of any future mailings of that type, or indeed, request to be completely removed from our contacts database. Please see the privacy wording at the end of each individual mailing for specific details.

Once a year we will send a letter to all contacts on our contacts database giving the option to be removed from this database. You may also request to be removed from this database at any time by contacting enquiries@trowers.com, or write to Head of Marketing, 3 Bunhill Row, London, EC1Y 8YZ.

Third parties

On occasion we will host an event jointly with a third party. We will only release your details to that third party on the basis of them conducting a specific and singular mailing. They will be requested to sign a contract indicating their understanding of our privacy policy and their commitment to use your details in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998, and will be considered a data controller for the purpose of that particular mailing. Where you respond directly to the third party you will be deemed to be giving your consent to their continued use, as a data controller, of your details. Where we undertake administration of joint events any individual from the third party's mailing list will be added to our contacts database and may in future receive relevant mailings from us. In this case, all mailing information will be treated as detailed above.
