Affordable housing providers can frequently experience problems with anti-social behaviour.  The powers of affordable housing provider to deal with anti-social behaviour were greatly strengthened by the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, which enabled affordable housing providers to apply for anti-social behaviour injunctions (which may be combined with a power of arrest or an exclusion order) or a demotion order. Affordable housing providers are also permitted to apply for an Anti-Social Behaviour Order under The Crime and Disorder Act 1988 on an application to the Magistrates' Court or as part of possession proceedings.

Each of these remedies should be considered in addition to an application for possession. In addition, other non-legal remedies such as anti-social behaviour contracts and mediation are possible where appropriate.

We offer a quick, efficient and cost effective service and we are able to respond promptly to matters which require urgent attention.

We have experience of all forms of alternative dispute resolution and non-legal solutions, including mediation, and we recognise that the best solution for all parties to a dispute is frequently to avoid litigation if possible.
