Our private equity team is truly international comprising specialist lawyers based in our London office and throughout our offices in the Middle East.
The London part of the team has advised on a number of high profile buyouts in the last 12 months, particularly in the hotel and leisure sector. Our clients include equity sponsors, entrepreneurs and management teams and we advise on a wide variety of matters ranging from initial venture capital investments to large scale private equity leveraged buyouts in the £500m plus category.
In the Middle East we act for a number of well known regional and international investment banks and fund managers on a range of private equity transactions. We have considerable expertise in the infrastructure and real estate sectors and, over the last 18 months, acted on transactions in these sectors in the MENASA region with a value in excess of US$2billion. We routinely advise on $1 billion plus fundraisings for regionally managed private equity funds. In addition, we regularly advise Middle Eastern clients looking to invest into the UK.
As part of our service, we provide advice on innovative structures to reflect often complicated shareholder and investment arrangements and which, in the Middle East, are often required to be Shar'iah compliant.
Our team comprises dedicated transactional, debt finance and fund lawyers (including specialists in Shari'ah compliant structures and financing products) together with specialist support in corporate tax, competition, real estate, and pensions law.
