Helen specialises in European procurement and public sector contracts. She advises both the public and private sectors on joint ventures, strategic partnerships and regeneration. Helen has particular experience of public sector companies and vires issues. She is a nationally recognised expert in the application of European procurement regulations to major infrastructure and regeneration projects. Helen was a member of Sir Ian Byatt’s Procurement Taskforce and contributed to the Byatt Report.

Helen is recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers Guides as a national expert on procurement law. She advises on complex procurement issues, such as the practical application of the Competitive Dialogue procedure. The Legal 500 praises the 'forensic' approach combined with 'genuine creativity' which Helen brings to her work.

In 2007 Helen was named as member of the Lawyer magazine "Hot 100" in the public sector lawyers category for her outstanding contribution to the public sector legal services industry. She is a director and former chair of the award winning New Local Government Network, a leading policy think tank which promotes efficiency and modernisation in the public sector.
