Emma Tarran
Emma is a Partner in our Public Sector: Communities and Governance department which she joined in 2005. Her background is in public law, having initially qualified as a barrister in a public law chambers, and then worked in parliamentary and public law. She then gained four years experience of social housing law at another firm before coming to Trowers & Hamlins.
Emma specialises in advising public sector, charitable and voluntary sector organisations, especially housing associations (including traditional and stock transfer housing associations, charities and non-charities, companies limited by guarantee and industrial and provident societies), but also community development charities, care charities and fundraising charities, as well as the other corporate members of our clients' groups including development and trading subsidiaries. She deals on a daily basis with the full spectrum of constitutional and governance issues affecting these organisations, and advises on vires and governance issues, mergers, group structures, relationships between organisations and charity law.
