Charles is a senior associate in the Corporate department.  Prior to Trowers & Hamlins, Charles worked at DLA in London (where he also trained).  His expertise covers corporate finance (especially AIM IPOs and secondary issues whether acting for the issuer or nominated adviser and/or broker), public and private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, corporate law generally and commercial contracts.  Charles has experience of numerous sectors but has particular expertise in the natural resources, publishing, telecoms, leisure and care sectors.


A few notable transactions that Charles has worked on in 2006 and 2007 include: advising (i) Global Coal Management plc (formerly Asia Energy plc) on its US $52 million fundraising by way of accelerated bookbuild, (ii) WH Ireland Limited in regard to the AIM IPO of Roxi Petroleum plc (market capitalisation of US$ 64 million, (iii) GI Partners on its acquisition of 290 managed pubs from Punch Taverns plc for £576 million and (iv) Qatar Telecom Q.S.C. on its joint venture with AsiaCell Iraq and MerchantBridge Limited which operates a mobile phone licence in Iraq.
Charles speaks at conferences (such as a Redcliffe Training conference on the "Future of AIM"). In 2006 and 2007 Charles (together with UHY Hacker Young) carried out and published research on the costs of AIM IPOs.
