Alan Cook
Alan is a senior legal advisor at Trowers & Hamlins having joined from Nabarro Nathanson. He has previously worked in the Legal Departments of the London Borough of Islington (1972-1979) and the London Borough of Haringey (1979-1989) where he dealt with a range of areas of law including property work, but mainly on compulsory purchase, planning, tree preservation orders, highway orders and regeneration projects.
Alan specialises in compulsory purchase, planning and highways and has wide experience of advising local authorities, urban development corporations and regional development agencies in the promotion of compulsory purchase orders required to secure the successful regeneration of urban areas in partnership with private developers. He also advises on associated procedures such as creating, diverting and closing highways and public footpaths and on blight notices.
Alan was appointed by the Law Commission to advise on its Final Report on CPO Procedures, published on 15 December 2004. He is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association.
