Abdullah is a corporate partner at Trowers & Hamlins and is currently based in Bahrain. Abdullah has substantial experience in cross-border M&A, capital markets and securities transactions with a strong expertise in transactions involving listed and private securities in the GCC, the broader Middle East and in South and South East Asia. Abdullah has an in-depth knowledge of the securities and exchange regulations and practices governing the disposal and acquisition of substantial blocks of listed securities in the GCC and has acted for both buyers and sellers on a number of the region's biggest ever M&A deals. Abdullah also advises on high profile insolvency and administration matters and is currently one of the partners leading the administration of The International Banking Corporation BSC(c) (In Administration) on behalf of the Central Bank of Bahrain.

In addition to his general corporate practice, Abdullah heads the firm's Telecoms / TMT practice and in recent years has advised on telecom M&A and licence acquisition transactions involving assets in 14 countries and with an aggregate value in excess of US$ 15 billion. His TMT clients include Vodafone, AT&T, Orange, Cable & Wireless, Scarlet Belgacom, STTC, Qtel, Zain, Huawei, Bloomberg, Delta Partners, Mobily and Nuetel Communications amongst others.

Abdullah's team was nominated for M&A Team of the Year at the 2007 IFLR Middle East Awards for its work advising Qtel on its US$ 3.8 billion acquisition of Wataniya and the transaction itself was nominated for M&A Deal of the Year at the same event. The transaction was also awarded the Telecom Finance Emerging Markets M&A Deal of the Year.
