Abdullah Mutawi is an English qualified lawyer and is currently based in the firm's Bahrain office.  

Abdullah head's the firm's TMT practice and his clients include some of the largest telecom operators both regionally and globally whom he has advised on licence bids, M&A and capital markets work and on their regulatory, commercial and corporate affairs in the region. 

Abdullah's team comprises lawyers who specialise in all aspects of telecoms work including TMT regulatory and competition law specialists, lawyers with IP/IT capabilities as well as turnkey and EPC specialists who assist him on network vendor and infrastructure roll-out aspects of his clients' business.

Abdullah also advises on non-telecom capital markets and M&A deals and has a particular expertise in the regulations governing the acquisition and disposal of 'blocks' of listed securities in GCC markets.

In 2007 Abdullah advised clients on over US$ 10 billion worth of M&A transactions involving mobile telecoms assets in Singapore, Indonesia, India, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Palestine, the Maldives, Tunisia and Algeria.   Most notably he acted for Qtel on its US$ 3.8 billion acquisition of Wataniya and Cable and Wireless Plc on its US$ 506 million disposal of its 20% stake in Batelco.
