Trowers & Hamlins’ Head of Dispute Resolution and Litigation appointed Deputy District Judge
John has been appointed with immediate effect, though he is likely to begin sitting in court from June. He will sit a minimum of 15 days a year, and will remain a full-time partner and head of department.
As a Deputy District Judge, John will deal with a wide spectrum of civil and family law cases, such as claims for damages and injunctions, possession proceedings against mortgage borrowers and property tenants, divorces, child proceedings, domestic violence injunctions and insolvency proceedings, in county courts and district registries of the High Court across London and the South East.
John's appointment follows a highly competitive selection process, with around one in eight applicants chosen as judges.
