Planning expert Jacqueline Backhaus joins Trowers & Hamlins
Jacqueline has broad experience in all planning matters including negotiating planning applications, handling appeals on a wide variety of development schemes, dealing with strategic land use planning and negotiating complex planning, highways and related agreements.
In addition, Jacqueline has particular expertise in compulsory purchase and compensation matters and enforcement issues and is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association. Jacqueline also regularly undertakes advocacy at public inquiries for both private clients and local authorities. Recent highlights for Jacqueline include a successful challenge in the Court of Appeal to a decision of the Secretary of State in relation to S18 Land Compensation Act Appeal concerning the Lower Lea Valley, Olympic & Legacy Compulsory Purchase Order 2006 on behalf of the Rooff Group Ltd. now remitted back to the Secretary of State for redetermination.
