Trowers & Hamlins appoints new Real Estate partner from Olswang
Trowers & Hamlins, the City law firm, has appointed Julien Allen as a Partner to its Real Estate team. Julien joins from Olswang where he spent four years, including two as a Partner in their Real Estate practice.
Prior to joining Olswang, Julien spent four years at Clifford Chance and five years at Norton Rose in their Real Estate division.
Julien has extensive experience in property development, investment transactions and lettings. Most recently Julien acted for REIT Asset Management on their £635m portfolio acquisition from the administrators Dawnay Day Group. This is believed to be one of the biggest commercial property transactions in the UK so far in 2009.
Other important transactions that Julien Allen has acted on include:
- The development and pre-letting of over 1 million square feet of offices and retail space at Spitalfields EC1, acting for Hammerson and Spitalfields Development Group
- Acting for Richard Caring Group of Companies on the acquisition of the Soho House Group and Mark Birley Group with a combined value of over £200m
- Acting for the London Borough of Lewisham on the development of a £230m leisure, residential and mixed use project at Loampit Vale
- Acting for Brixton plc on its £45m acquisition of the former Guinness Brewery Site in London
