Trowers & Hamlins appointed as one of two law firms to provide legal service to Blackpool Council

City law firm Trowers & Hamlins has been appointed as one of two firms to provide legal services in partnership with Blackpool Council.

Trowers & Hamlins says that the two firms will provide support in relation to standards, commercial contracts, litigation, regeneration, PPP projects and planning advice, as well as mutually sharing knowledge and expertise in public sector work with the Council's Legal team.

Partner Karen Andrews who will be leading the team says: "We are very excited by this opportunity to build a long term partnership with Blackpool Council and to play a part in the regeneration of the area. The appointment reflects the increasing desire amongst local authorities and law firms to enter into long term partnership arrangements in order to deliver major regeneration and achieve efficiency savings."

Mark Lewis, Head of Legal and Democratic Services at Blackpool Council commented: "We were impressed by Trowers & Hamlins’ understanding of the challenges facing in-house lawyers, the innovative nature of the projects they are advising on and the breadth of their experience."
