Trowers & Hamlins advises Kier Limited on signing of £60m strategic partnership with Sheffield City Council
City law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Kier Limited on its new £60m, seven year strategic service partnership with Sheffield City Council. Kier Limited will now provide facilities management services to the council’s property portfolio.
Trowers & Hamlins explains that the new partnership agreement between Sheffield City Council and Kier Limited builds on the successful Kier Sheffield LLP vehicle for the provision of maintenance services for the Council’s housing portfolio, which Trowers & Hamlins also advised on.
Helen Randall, Partner at Trowers & Hamlins, commented: "The agreement reached between Kier Limited and Sheffield City Council reflects the new agenda for public authorities in terms of achieving efficiencies, cost savings and better asset management."
"Strategic partnerships like this between public authorities and their suppliers allow the service provider to reduce their costs in recognition of the security of their revenue stream."
Helen Randall says that the deal between Kier Limited and the Council adds to Trowers & Hamlins' long-standing experience of working on strategic partnerships.
Adds Helen Randall: "In a challenging funding environment and with a comprehensive spending review approaching, strategic partnerships like these that can produce tangible efficiencies are increasingly important."
