Arup report highlights strengths of PPC2000

PPC2000 was created by David Mosey, Head of Trowers & Hamlins Projects and Construction Group as a solution to the construction industry’s tendency for cost overruns and poor delivery and the resulting spiral of litigation. It covers the entire procurement programme and creates new working relationships between the client, contractors and consultants.
David Mosey comments: “We are delighted that Arup’s report has ranked PPC2000 so highly and has confirmed PPC2000’s compliance with the OGC Achieving Excellence in Construction principles.”
“Arup has recognised PPC2000’s strengths in clearly setting out the amount of time and money required to deliver a project and in providing a swifter and more cost-effective way for parties to resolve any points of difference than they would obtain through litigation. This will become increasingly important as the economic downturn places additional pressures on construction projects.”

Arup has described PPC2000 as representing “a complete procurement and delivery system that is distinct from other forms of contract available”
David Mosey says: “The report highlights that realising a successful project can be increased by using PPC2000 from the beginning of the planning stage right through to completion.”

“We hope that the findings of this report will, in the longer term, encourage the OGC to endorse PPC2000. Whilst this may take longer than the growing number of fans of PPC2000 might like, they will be hopeful that this is a major step in the right direction.”
