Trowers & Hamlins, the leading public sector and housing law firm, has formed a department dedicated to Communities and Governance work.
Ian Doolittle, who heads the department, said: 'We are building on our well-known expertise in local authority housing stock transfers and Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs), constitutional and group structure work for social landlords, and advice to charities and other not-for-profit organisations to create a dedicated department'.
Ian Davis, who heads the Governance team, explained: 'Our recognition of governance as a discrete practice area means that we offer uniquely focused advice for our clients and a strong team of lawyers to deliver it. We see great potential to grow this work, for housing and nonhousing clients, in the future'.
In addition to Ian Doolittle and Ian Davis, the department also includes well-known specialists such as Scott Dorling, Catherine Hand, Rob Beiley and Emma Tarran.
The department's first publication is 'Community Ownership: a Guide and a Directory'. Issued on behalf of Trowers & Hamlins
